# Cloud architecture

> How the control plane, runtimes, Code, and Studio work together.

Veryfront Cloud coordinates project resources and execution. The control plane stores source, configuration, access rules, and execution history. Runtimes provide the compute that serves applications and executes work.

## How work executes

A client starts work through the Cloud APIs. The control plane coordinates it with the selected runtime, which reports progress and results. The client can inspect the recorded outcome independently of its original connection.

The [Execution API](/docs/cloud/apis/execution) explains agent and background runs. The [Deployment API](/docs/cloud/apis/deployment) connects project releases to server environments, and the [Sandbox API](/docs/cloud/apis/sandbox) provides isolated command and file sessions.

## Development and access

[Veryfront Code](/docs/code) provides the framework for implementing applications and agents. [Veryfront Studio](/docs/studio) provides an interactive interface to project resources. Backends, scripts, and assistants use the [Cloud APIs](/docs/cloud/apis), whose available operations differ across REST, GraphQL, and MCP.

The [Projects API](/docs/cloud/apis/projects) explains source and version selection. The [Identity and Access API](/docs/cloud/apis/identity-and-access) explains credentials and permissions that apply across those resources.

Return to the [AI application lifecycle](/docs/cloud/getting-started/ai-application-lifecycle) to see how these components support development through operation and improvement.
