# Create project favorite

> Adds the project to the caller's favorites and returns the favorite record; a repeat call returns the existing record.

`createProjectFavorite(projectReference: ID!): ProjectFavorite!`

Requires project.read.

## Arguments

| Argument | Type | Required | Description |

| `projectReference` | [`ID!`](https://veryfront.com/docs/cloud/graphql/types/id) | Yes | Project UUID, slug or domain. A repeat call returns the existing favorite record. |

## Response

Returns [`ProjectFavorite!`](https://veryfront.com/docs/cloud/graphql/types/projectfavorite). Open the type for its fields and nested types.

| `id` | [`ID!`](https://veryfront.com/docs/cloud/graphql/types/id) | Identifier of the favorite association, not the project. |
| `userId` | [`ID!`](https://veryfront.com/docs/cloud/graphql/types/id) | User who owns this favorite association. |
| `projectId` | [`ID!`](https://veryfront.com/docs/cloud/graphql/types/id) | Identifier of the favorited project; favorites do not grant project access. |
| `createdAt` | [`DateTime!`](https://veryfront.com/docs/cloud/graphql/types/datetime) | Timestamp when this favorite association was created. |
| `project` | [`Project`](https://veryfront.com/docs/cloud/graphql/types/project) | Full project when project.read is allowed; null if access is denied or the project was deleted. |

Types marked with `!` cannot be null. Lists use `[Type]` notation. The [type index](https://veryfront.com/docs/cloud/graphql/schema.md) lists all published input and response types.
