# Box download file

> Download file.

`box__download_file`

Returns base64 content, content type and byte size; maximum 128 KiB.

## Access

Requires a project integration connection for `box`.

**Call type:** Can read or manage credentials.

## Arguments

| `fileId` | `string` | Yes | Box file ID. A 202 response with Retry-After means the file is not ready; wait for the indicated delay before retrying. |
| `version` | `string` | No | Specific file version to download; omit for the current version |
