The Projects API manages projects and their source content. A project groups application code, agent definitions, integrations, and execution history under an ownership and access boundary.

Source and branches

Project files contain application code and definitions. Branches keep alternate source versions so changes can be reviewed before merging. Approvals, status checks, and branch policies determine merge eligibility. File revisions and update preconditions help clients detect changes made since a previous read.

Releases and environments

File reads can address a branch, release, or deployed environment. These selectors identify different views of the source; they are not interchangeable identifiers. The Deployment API creates releases and connects them to environments. Project file operations inspect the content associated with those versions.

Source and execution targets

The source selector determines which version a read or edit addresses. The execution target determines where work runs. An agent definition can be read from one source target while its run is assigned an explicit runtime target. Check both when investigating unexpected behavior. A branch ID, environment ID, and release version refer to different resources even when they resolve to similar content.

Uploads and generated assets

Uploads store files independently of project source. They have their own paths, visibility, permissions, and download URLs. Generated images use the same upload lifecycle. Dependency operations resolve project packages. Style artifacts record generated CSS. A support application can keep its agent definition and code on a review branch while uploaded attachments remain separate assets. Updating a source file does not replace an upload or the history of an earlier execution.

Access and collaboration

Project ownership and membership determine which resources a caller can manage. The Identity and Access API manages memberships and invitations. Labels and favorites help organize projects; favorites do not grant access.
